A Castro Valley woman’s signature may soon be appearing on all new paper money printed in the United States. 

Rosa “Rosie” Gumataotao Rios, who has lived in Castro Valley for the past 14 years, is President Barack Obama’s nominee for Treasurer of the country. 

If confirmed by the U.S. Senate, she will be the third consecutive Hispanic woman from California to hold the post.  more
