Popular Backyard Batting Cages May Be ‘Called Out’ by County June 18, 2009

For nearly three decades, Oscar Miller has played host to hundreds of young baseball players who have trained in the four batting cages in his Fern Way back yard. But that era may be coming to an end.

Last week, in a standingroom- only meeting before the West County Board of Zoning Adjustments, Miller was ordered to either apply for a conditional use permit for his operation or to shut it down. more

This guy never charged for his cages..it was freee, i knew people who went there to hit for many years, he let them use it since no where and castro valley had cages that were decent. Castro valley is a bunch of tree huggers who wont mind there own business and let people do there own stuff. They are all up in everyones business.

And I should build a ferris wheel for my children because they want it. That’s what we have ballfields for and go pay for your batting practice in a commercially zoned batting cage if your kid needs practice. You know how ugly and noisy these cages are 70ft long 12 ft high and 14 feet wide. THESE DON’T BELONG IN YARDS right next to their neighbors. So sick of you sports fanatics that think you raising the next A-Rod.
